“They say medical school is like drinking from a fire hydrant, and that is true. There is so much information to assimilate in a short amount of time. I transitioned successfully to medical school because of the rigors of my undergraduate studies and the high level of expectations UT Tyler professors had for us as students.”
Expert Advising for Medical School Admission
Pre-medical advising is provided through our College of Arts and Sciences, which holds membership in the Texas and National Associations of Advisors for the Health Professions. We will help you select curriculum and extracurricular activities to prepare for medical school acceptance. You also will be guided through the medical school application process.
Medical schools do not recommend any one undergraduate major for students planning a career in medicine. Instead, they prefer a rigorous arts and sciences education. In addition to required courses for medical school admission, we offer more than 40 majors to suit your interests and develop your skills for med school success.
